Blue Tree Services

We have now teamed up with Blue Tree Services who offer a personal GPS tracker for the individual.

BlueRanger is a small, wearable GPS location device for the consensual tracking of people, including children. It can tell those monitoring it its location, in real time, to within 4 metres so you always know where it is, and so you know the location of the person wearing it.

BlueRanger is managed and tracked using BlueMap software which you install and run on an Internet connected Windows PC. Optionally, you can track BlueRanger units using the Blue Map PDA.

If you have a suitably sophisticated mobile phone or PDA or would consider upgrading, you might also consider KoolTrax software that turns your mobile phone into a GPS Tracker.

To get your alerts you can:

  • Set up one or more geographic boundaries by drawing an on screen map. Have more than one boundary for each user, and switch between them as you wish. Have one for school, one for the playgroup, one for town, another for a friends house. It's easy to set up a temporary boundary, for instance around a club or venue, just for the night. When the BlueRanger GPS tracking device leaves the boundary, you'll get an alert.
  • Request a 'being worn' alert which tells you if the unit stays completely still (ie. isn't being worn).
  • Configure a speed alert so you know if the wearer is in a car, or even if they are exceeding the speed limit.
  • Create a fall alarm.
  • Click to receive a low battery alert so you know when to recharge your BlueRanger.

BlueRanger specifications

  • dimensions: 24mm x 80mm x 55mm (about the size of a credit card, but 24mm thick)
  • weight: 100-110g
  • GPS chip: SiRFstar III

BlueRanger tracks whoever wears it, so use it for all the family, or pass it around the staff according to who needs it the most.
